now my friend is really worried that once she signs, she will be agreeing to whatever is in the employment contract which she has never seen.

Her benefits and terms and conditions were only explained to her verbally during the interview and she was confirmed on the spot.

any advice?

This is an old & dirty HR trick quite commonly used by HR officers everywhere.... On the day of signing the appointment letter by the new recruit.. the HR officer will always see the new staff already halfway signing his signature on the letter.. then HR will suddenly recall some unfavorable clause in the contract(eg:resignation) or the missing perks and benefits.. The timing HR execute this is very precise.. just before the new staff can finish the last stroke of his signature.....
