Think D&N has really slipped in the traditional finance and transactional areas like banking, ECM and DCM cap markets, project fin, where it is on par or even less well regarded than Dentons rodyk. In M&A and funds is it slightly above Dentons but even their corp/M&A team isn't strong (for a so called Big 4). These are all borne out in the rankings too.
For a big full service firm, they do have some gaping holes in their offerings like shipping and VC work. Most of their strengths are in liti and liti adjacent areas like R&I, employment. They hv discrete strengths in IP and tax.
