I completed the Hackerrank, interview with manager and even spoke with the HR managers several times but was still invited to go to this event. I will attend for a couple of hours and if it doesn't help with the TAP application I would leave. Wouldn't harm knowing about their culture and networking.

Have you also applied for the TAP and finished the Hackerrank?
