I am in a SB. Actually my previous job grade is the unspoken glass ceiling for junior management (non-scholar) banding. I got lucky when my team head and his potential successor (scholar) left last year, I was the next (most laojiao) in line and promoted to team head (into the management band so I can have 2 more job grades to go). I am in a very niche area so it was not feasible to transfer a manager from another department over.
