Downgrading is no problem at all. Many people downgrade to fund their retirement. There are those who sell their landed properties and buy
HDB flats to retire.
For example they sell their landed properties for $3 mil. Then buy a
HDB flat for $500k. They have $2.5 mil to travel and enjoy life. No need to worry at all.
