I believe you must be a relatively new teacher. Normally if you ICT is low-key and you’ll only be away for about a few days, then relief might be taken by random teachers. If it’s a high key ICT, your HOD would have tried to make internal arrangements for a “fixed” teacher to cover your class OR hire a contract adjunct to cover your lessons. They would know how to ensure that learning continues for students. You just need to ensure that you give them ample time to plan.
Just like what others say, no one is indispensable. Even for HODs who are still active
NS men, they will still go for their ICT and rarely are their requests for deferment approved.
