To OP, stop listening to these idiots and connect with professionals on linkedin who are working in the positions that you're coveting. Get linkedin premium and you'll see NUS/ NTU econs grads in a whole host of vocations. You're not limited by your major nor are you disadvantaged in securing jobs in finance compared to B&F graduates.

IBD, you NEED to have financial knowledge (if that’s not from your major, then it has to be displayed in your past internships/extracurricular courses/relevant comps).
Not saying a pol sci or econ major can’t make it into
IBD str from undergrad, but you need to be the top 1% and differentiate yourself like just like everyone else.
