Maybe he accounted for inflation. Haha. But yeah, $76k as starting salary in today's market for IT (specifically) is already a stretch; in 1985, that would have put him in the top bracket of earners fresh out of school. Not impossible, but extremely doubtful. He could have paid for a
HDB flat in full within a year of graduation.
