base AC is around 150k including bonus.

150k is Not first year resident. first year resident same pay as MO. Resident and MO pay the same. in fact, some specialty resident must pay a training allowance, so in practice resident get lower pay.

pay increment is abt 2-5% depending on performance.

Doesn't it take one to at least finish their PGY-2 (MO year) before they can apply to become a resident in their desired speciality? I feel residents are getting way underpaid then. Is registar when they are able to make the big jump in salary ? and Do residents pay also vary depending on specialty?
