These ones pay very well but certainly less than MBB (for entry roles only, idk about salaries for higher positions).
Hi there, your information seems to be a little outdated.

1) Bain's work does not revolve around due dilligence. They are huge on their PE practice but because of it's intensity, they do it on a rotational basis i.e. Staff at the junior level get rotated in and out of the PE practice to let everyone have a fair share of CDDs. Bain (SEA) is also huge on many other practices such as mining, O&G, etc, it's just not as prominent as its PE practice.

Since Bain does not have a seperate arm for implementation work, the unlucky ones have to do implementation projects for 6 months to a year. In McKinsey, they have the Implementation arm (Mckinsey Implementation) so their generalist business analysts do not have to risk getting into an implementation project.

2) Mckinsey and BCG's salary structure for fresh graduates aren't to die for. They typically are slightly below 6k SGD (excluding bonuses/allowances). Bain, on the other hand, pays closer to 7k SGD due to the need to grow and play "catch-up" in SEA.

Your statement on Tier 2s paying less than MBB is hence, wrong in certain combinations for fresh graduates.
Firms like OW and S& beat at least 1 or 2 of the MBBs in terms of fresh grad compensation.

Do take note the tier 2s have to "buy" talent whereas MBB does not, which explains why they offer such compensation for fresh grads. Then again as time passes, you can be sure MBBs compensation eventually catches up/exceeds the tier 2. Most importantly, exit opps for MBBs will crush (for the lack of a better word) tier 2s.
