Getting last month salary from employer
Hi All,
I am an S Pass holder. My employer just terminated my employment contract. I understand that the employer needs to withhold my last month salary for tax clearance purpose. They mentioned they will be giving me a cheque to collect the remaining $$ sum once tax clearance is done.
1. Is the employer required to show how they comes up with the final amount to pay me? Can I check the tax amount from my IRAS online account to be sure they did not just make up the tax deduction amount?
2. Do you guys thinking getting the payment via cheque is a good idea? I'm afraid once I have signed off papers that say the employer has paid me, they could then immediately stop the cheque and I will not be getting the money.
