Plan ahead? I studied Engineering over 10 years ago. Look at what's the state of engineering these days. Low pay. Hard work. Youngsters stay 10 football fields away from this industry. Can you plan ahead? I think a better thing would be to do what your heart desires 'cos what you THINK maybe a hot and sizzling industry may not be the case after you graduate. Things changes in the blink of an eye in Singapore. |

science is about theory and research... masters and phd is about more indepth research. what kind of company are u refering? most companies will definitely look for masters or phd where necessary especially in research work. no abundant job opportunities.. esp in chem n bio in sillypore. research pay is slightly lower than market rate. but u get a qualification upon completion. try govt sector.. mindef astar welcome masters and above. for research jobs... most of the time they are looking for 2nd uppers and above. |

chemistry jobs/prospects. hi intending to take chemistry and biological chemistry in ntu. In terms of research and development, i heard that u must at least have a masters or phd to go somewhere in the company. is that true? May i also know if there are abundant job opportunities for scientists? Lastly if you cant excel in research or teaching what other choices do i have?(something thats related to chemistry) thx in advance. i really like chemistry, but really worried abt the prospects. pls advice cause i havent entered the working world yet and would want to plant ahead. thx(: |
