i know SM is still M6 in MSS because i help my boss login b4. but nowadays the SM external titles start from M3. all this title inflation over here happen few years ago when they upgrade all M1 to manager external title and this cause everyone external title to upgrade 1-2 levels

i dont know about GM though

i think i am a REAL principal engineer in a 5000~10000 MNC doing fiber optic transceiver..

my previous company, size of 50,000~100,000, offer 6k for principal engineer as a start...

maybe bigger company offer lower pay for principal engineer.

or most likely is the pay band is overlapped.

That just mean your co. is inflating titles. Under GLC model, principal engineer considered key appt specialist which should be M5 to G1 depending on co. size
