Reason such surveys are higher is 1) sample bias because only people who feel good about themselves will bother to take part and 2) no independent verification, anyone can put a higher number and minimal checks are done 3) ignore NS effect and higher public sector starting as a result of front loading

The schools themselves are not stupid and know that such raw data should be further adjusted to reflect underlying conditions, but they knowingly ignore doing that as reporting higher starting salaries does well for the school's branding.

Yes agree with this. As a fresh grad with little or no experience, there is nothing about being shortchanged. Having been in the workforce for 4 years, I can say there is no free lunch in this world. Higher pay means you will have more responsibilities. Questions to think about: Are you able to apply for companies who can pay you 2.5k? If yes, good. If you have job offers that pay is 1.8 to 2.1K, will you reject them and wait for the 2.5k job? If you can get the 2.5k job, will it be a role that you want?

Salary survey results tend to be skewed to the higher spectrum as most of the people willing to take the survey are people with higher paying jobs. Hope that clarifies

but for my case polyGES put 2.5k as median, is it accurate?

am worried i'm getting shortchanged here
You should not expect 2.5k as a diploma holder. 2.5k is the low end of a degree pay.
