Now time is different and difficult due too many fake degrees from India

Hi guys.Just to interupt a little. NOW in Singapore the authority is very serious about Indian India applying job in Singapore due too many fake degrees from India. Those caught with fake degrees will be prosecuted and fine heavily plus jail sentence and repatriated back to the country where they from.So any one wants to get a job must be having genuine degrees or else bad luck waiting .

Unregistered Welcome to Singapore!
There is a very huge Indian community here, so you and your wife will feel right at home!

With your household income of $15k SGD (both you and your wife), definitely more than sufficient to live comfortably. Mean time, can consider having kids here as well as the quality of health care and education is much better. Try to get PR asap!

Count yourself lucky.
Not enough la. Rent condo already 2.5k then electric bill, Internet etc add up to 3k.
So he only take home 5k.

5k is comparable to fresh grad comp Sci pay.

So low.

My wife, who is also in the same field will be looking for a job in SG once we move there. I'm a little concerned about the salary offered because SG is considerably more expensive than India and we are not sure if we would be able to maintain the same sort of lifestyle that we currently enjoy. We tend to eat out a lot because none of us is particularly good at cooking. We have no other debts or loans at the moment and our main expenditure in India is rent, eating out, house helps, pet food and vet bills, shopping and entertainment (equivalent of 300-500 SGD per month in India), car fuel and weekend getaways.

Ofcourse, once my wife starts working, we know that we will be far more comfortable but our intention is to save her entire salary and invest it.

Will 8000SGD be sufficient to have a comfortable life for two (plus a pet)? We don't intend to buy a car and would be happy to use public transport. We also aren't very picky about eating at expensive places all the time. We do however, love our shopping and going out.

Your views are highly appreciated!

My bad. I meant that she found a job in an American Startup which recently started its operations in Singapore. The hiring VP of the startup is based in India and they wanted someone to drive the sales in SG. I hope that clears the confusion.

As for the person who has a problem with Indians, I'm not sure why the hate. We're harmless little IT loving folks.

Luckily, we are able to pull some strings back home and my wife finally got a job at a start-up IT firm with a base of 9k per month with good revenue sharing bonuses.

As a lot of you said, it is indeed quite tough for DP holders to find employment here because of certain laws in place.
