i think today in sg, tie is not needed any more for interview. it's quite pretentious and i believe very few hiring managers or hr will mark down interviewees for not wearing tie. as long as u look presentable, all is good. for informal interviews, mainly are smaller companies and probably 90% of startup. u can even wear tee shirt and jeans if u like, just dont be too sloppy. |

an informal discussion is still an interview. Make no mistakes about it. Still dress professionally to be suited for the occasion and the type of job. No need certs. Most companies these days don't really ask for your certs unless it's very old school type of companies which even if you don't have it, you can always send by email to them later on if needed. |
