Here are my increments between job changes so far: 1st change - ~4.5% (yes, I'm kinda conned) 2nd change - 11.6% 3rd change - 40.6% Not sure about other companies. But in my first company, it was emphasized that "getting a degree from part-time studies does not guarantee automatic pay increment and/or promotion". It all depends on whether there is an engineer "slot" for the graduate to fill in. Due to this, lots of part-time degree holders left upon completing the part-time studies. But on the flip side, the company also does not restrict anyone with proven good capabilities over years to rise to the rank of engineers or senior engineers regardless of the fact that he/she is a degree/diploma holder. ... and no. I don't think these part-time degree holders will get a sharp pay increment when they change jobs. Maybe they will get slightly higher than fresh grads, but definitely not on par with that of a graduate right from start. |

Hmmm | How about those they leave their job after aquiring a part-time degree? Will they be a sharp jump if u were previously lowly paid?

Unregistered | My last pay-increase was 50%. It depends how badly the company wants your skill.

Pay jump when switching jobs Hi all, i m new here. Sorry I cant find a similar thread with this topic or such a topic is probably way behind in the thread history. Anyone can share their experience in negotiating your pay increase when you switch jobs? Is it always the 5%,10% or 20%? |
