Unregistered your private degree and 1.5 yrs experience is still considered SO level.

Unregistered I guess you applied for a position at SPRING Singapore.

The progression for a fresh grad at SO to a Mgr is usually 1yr 9 months to 2 years. While I do not know what you've done and achieved in this 1.5 years, I strongly believe they will only offer you a SO position, and the most a faster promotion towards Mgr.

Keep your hopes up, but don't expect too much. Without a genuine interest in the work there, you'll have a hard time surviving there.

Private to Public Sservice (Advice needed)

Dear all,

I'm a market research guy with about 1.5 years of exp looking out for opportunities and happened to chance upon one with one of the stat board under MTI.

I've never worked in the public service besides NS (which doesn't really count but gives me a feel)

I have an upcoming interview with 3 persons 2 weeks later, and am here to ask for interview advice for someone who's from the private sector.

Looking at Glassdoor, there seem to be some consistent interview questions:
1) Why do you want to join Public Service, despite coming from Private?
2) What motivates you to switch?
3) Anyone has other types of interview questions to share?

Additional Queries
1) The role is a Senior Officer/Manager position, how much salary should one command; given that i have some experience in the Private sector and should not be a SO role? Since SOs are mainly for fresh graduates.
2) I did private degree, how much variation in salary would there be versus local unis?
3) I believe my CEP would be lower than most local uni graduates
4) Anyone knows the salary scale for SO/M/SM and so on?

Thanks in advance
