Haha. I guess there is no hard and fast rule for each role whether if it have a better work life balance. It is really up to individual capabilities.

If you want work life balance, you can try to be independent financial consultant/advisor then. (Self employed insurance agent). Own time own target get your sales. But you do not have any basic pay at all. It is totally just commission based. You can have your work life balance for all you want. Depends on how hard you want to fight for yourself.

Either you have to start off as those very low position account like executive accountant, or u change industry, and have to start off from a very low position with very very low pay.

Unless you go into those small company in low position like executive accountant, those I dont think you need to do OT much. (That what I heard from my friend who is an accountant)

But why did you choose this major for your degree? is it your interest?

Fresh Grad in Accounting & Finance

Hi guys, im very lost. need some help. I took a private degree in Accounting and Finance and i need help for my future.

I know that Accounting & Finance are crazy jobs as there's alot of OT, heavy workload, time consuming. but im more of a Work-Life-Balance kind of person.

May i have a idea for accounting degree, which area can i go to? (with work life balance). Im interested in management accounting more than financial accounting tho. does management accounting have longer hours than financial accounting? Is procurement related? (because i know procurement is under scm which also is logistics)

How about finance degree? (and still with work life balance). I know banks have front middle back end. i know that back end have more work life balance. but i have also heard that back end having crazy workload + OT.

I need some advice. I admit im strawberry. Just wanna open to all options.
