While I agree that we should be sensitive and kind towards those involved, I wish to add on that male apathy has been encouraged by years of structural oppression against women whilst they have been silenced in fear of reputation or losing their jobs.

sexual misconduct is never acceptable and effective policies need to be implemented that address predatory sexual misbehaviour and hold perpetrators fully to account
