Unregistered Surely you can do the math, right?

Your first job required you to work 58 hours a week for $2900 and no additional bonus.

Your next prospective job requires you to work 47.5 hours a week for $3250 with prospect of bonus.

Even if we take the bonus out of the equation, your income per hour increases from $12.50 an hour to $17.10. Your real pay hike would be 30+%.

I would say do something with your extra income and free time, like get additional professional certification to diversify your skill set since you have quite ordinary qualifications and your best asset currently is probably the fact you hold a pink IC.

- Starting Salary $2900 with AWS and no additional bonus
- Work for about 1.5 years

2nd Job
- A support role in manufacturing industry
- Working hours, normal monday to friday 8-5.30pm, no OT required
- Offered salary $3250 with AWS and discretionary bonus
- I asked for a 12% increment. Because of my non related degree and inexperience.

Question:
- Does my 2nd job salary increment legit?
- What are the others starting salary package from 1st to 2nd jump?
- Anybody from manufacturing industry fresh grad salary to share?
- Will i be too specialise if i continure in manufacturing industry?

Personal opinion

I feel a support role in any industry does not make a difference. My skill are general. Whether in bank, manufacturing, education, IT industry. It will still be transferable.
Well they are offering you an increase and possibly some bonus, what more do you want in a manufacturing environment?

Even if you say support job is the same across all industries (not true IMO), hirers especially those in the lucrative idnustry like banking & oil& gas are generally not interested in people from manufacturing because the culture and way of doing things is too different.
