Households pay double the amount for Romneycare, states report

A recent report found that, should Mitt Romney win the presidential election, American households might pay double the amount for medical care as they would under the Obama Administration's Affordable Care Act. Source for this article: best short term loans repay installments.

Looking at Romney’s healthcare

The Obama-administration's Affordable Care Act, or Obamacare, is considered a “job killer,” according to Mitt Romney. That is why he has promised to repeal it as fast as he can when he is elected.

The president cannot just overturn laws, but Romney’s medical program would leave 41.9 million people without any coverage. On top of that, the average family would end up paying more for health insurance since he might want to turn Medicaid into a block grant and implement health insurance tax deductions.

Most median income households might pay $11,481 a year under the Romney plan for non-group health insurance. It would only cost $5,985 under the Affordable Care Act. According to the "ObamaCare versus RomneyCare versus RomneyCandidateCare," the Romney plan would make it harder for the average family to stay healthy, though that report comes from a left-leaning group.

According to Households USA Executive Director Ron Pollack:

“Under RomneyCandidateCare, middle-class families would pay comparatively much more out of pocket for their health care, and the number of uninsured Americans would skyrocket."

Households USA also found that Romney's plans to cut federal funding to Medicaid would leave more kids and poor Americans without access to medical care.

The report decided that the choice Americans make in November will have a profound influence on the medical care of their families.

Another report from Bloomberg Government was released this year. It said that Romney’s program might not stem the rising cost of health care costs.

Romney marketing campaign

The Romney campaign was quick to fight the Households USA study. Amanda Henneberg, a spokeswoman for the campaign, composed in an e-mail:

“The Families USA ‘study’ is absurd. It assumes a fantasy world where Obamacare has actually worked. But Americans aren’t buying it. They’ve have watched as provision after provision has failed, costs have skyrocketed, and Medicare has been cut by $716 billion. Today’s report undermines the important health care debate our country should be having.”

The debate may already be here.

Most Americans supported the major provisions of the Affordable Care Act, in spite of what Henneberg may claim.

Looking at each side

The Massachusetts law was what the Affordable Care Act was based off of. This legislation was put into place by Romney, which he will tell voters:

“Don’t forget. I got everybody in my state insured.”
