Nursing job First of all you must have a passion for nursing . You want to be a nurse and you are willing to serve, help the sick and dying . If you think of nursing as a lowly job , you will never feel the pride in your job . I did my basic nursing training like all the Nurses out there. It was very hands on sort of training during the old days . But we were not afraid to learn . Everywhere we went , we had a notebook and we wrote everything down for reference . After my training , I graduated as a SRN aka staff nurse and worked in the surgical and medical ward for 2 years . After 2 years, I went to London to work for a while to get my UKCC registration before I went over to Moorfiels Eye Hospital to do my post basic training as a specialist ophthalmic nurse . The experience was very rewarding as I work my way as n SRN to a JUNIOR SISTER in the operating theatre . I worked in London for 7 good years . Would have stayed if not for the fact that my parents wanted us home . The hospital offered me a PR if I stay further . There were many Nurses from Australia and Ireland . Most work and travel to see the world as nursing is one career that is in demand worldwide. Australia welcome Nurses too . I'm settled in spore now working for a private dr and I earn close to $60,000 per year . Nursing may seem like lowly profession to some , but believe me . I've been there, seen it and done it . It's not ! |
