Second this. Local / private uni graduates are most likely out there working their butts of or sourcing for jobs during this pandemic. The trollers here are most likely the old birds who were retrenched or have their spot in the company taken over by the younger fresh graduates.

At the end of the day, regardless of which uni you're from, make full use of the opportunity given to you. I'm from a local uni myself but but I have colleagues from private uni (not insurance sorry) who are performing way better than their local uni counterparts. All the best!

True. I went a different path wanting to get into public service after graduation. My first job in private sector was just $2000. Went for few interviews but they only want to match my pay. Went into GLC with experience but was paid lower than fresh grad salary. After few years, left for private sector which has given me a pay bump.

I won't say that I am very successful, but I believe most SIM-UOL grads will do better with more experience in the private sector.

So I came to this forum to get a rough gauge of the salary that I can expect to get as a UOL-SIM graduate. There are some valuable information out here but half of them are just a joke. People bashing one another over the prospects and starting salary of their degrees. Iíll expect local uni students to be more educated and virtuous but it seems that itís not the case uh. Bunch of trollers. Why are you even on this thread? Isnít it clearly SIM UOL FRESH GRAD STARTING PAY?

You will probably flame me by saying ďyou havenít even graduate or done anything useful in your life so just stfu.Ē Yeah flame me all you want. I can deal with it.

How long did it take to reach your current salary?
Fresh grad yes, but tbh once you hit SM/AD level, paper qualifications don't matter as much I think. Know quite a few of them holding private degrees. Salary wise, it took around 2.5 years. There was quite a good increase after emplacement, plus if you served NS, you get a few hundred more as well. But progression from here onwards will definitely be slow...

That's a cool story brother, thank you for sharing
