Unregistered no future. maybe 20-30 yrs doing testing. maybe b4 u retire then get the chance to go to lab manager. n lab manager is nothing at all...

Honestly, you will not make it far as it is pretty much a waiting-for-promotion industry. I served at a local hospital in its lab before and the seniors there are around 40+ while the chance of promoting to managerial positions is slim when there are 20+ youngsters fighting for limited promotion. As there are many senior scientists holding high positions, it is a very slow career path. I.e you have to wait for the retirement of the senior scientist for the whole long chain of promotion to start going. Rates of turnover are low too

Hermit I am not sure what a medical technologist do. But I have the feeling that the healthcare sector is probably one of the best places to be in the years ahead with all these new hospitals popping up all over the country and across Asia.

I'm a science graduate, graduating with second uppers from local uni. Recently, I have been offered a medical technologist position. Though i did ask the interviewers during the interview itself, I would like to know more about the career development of this position.
