Unregistered I used to make $400k pa. in a IB. Own 4 condos, big car, etc. Then got retrenched.
Had to sell 2 condos and pay off loan of the other 2. So now own 2 fully paid condos, worth only $3m in total. Living in one condo and earning rental from one condo, earning $6k pm. Had to sell car too. Stopped drinking, women, etc. Living a humble life in a D15 condo.

Unregistered Varies quite a bit in Barcap.

My boss, VP for 5 years. ~250k.
Another guy, VP for 8 years. ~180k.

I'm not surprised at that amount. Seems normal at the banks I've worked in.

Unregistered I just saw Roberthalf's salary report and there is one for banking and financial sector.

Maybe you can refer to that. Dont just dismiss it if it is too low or too high.

Its a good reference/starting point.

Not sure how much 'bargaining' power a candidate has especially since they have such a strong global brand name that there'll be many who'll apply for their positions.

Any other views?
At the end of day, did the original poster get real offer or not? Is the handsomeboy went MIA or are you the same guy? Share with us what are you getting and the responsibilities, so that we can help to evaluate.
