I used to make $400k pa. in a IB. Own 4 condos, big car, etc. Then got retrenched. Had to sell 2 condos and pay off loan of the other 2. So now own 2 fully paid condos, worth only $3m in total. Living in one condo and earning rental from one condo, earning $6k pm. Had to sell car too. Stopped drinking, women, etc. Living a humble life in a D15 condo. |

Varies quite a bit in Barcap. My boss, VP for 5 years. ~250k. Another guy, VP for 8 years. ~180k. |

I just saw Roberthalf's salary report and there is one for banking and financial sector. Maybe you can refer to that. Dont just dismiss it if it is too low or too high. Its a good reference/starting point. |
