Aiyo! What's with the harsh tone bro. I was just trying to say, educations flop in early stage of one's life doesn't means the person will be destined to be a failure. That was my first post in salary.sg and i certainly didn't expect such harsh tone coming from bro kumantong4dpower. Case in point, i was just trying to inspire thread starter (perhaps i may not be good at it, but you don't have to sound so harsh). Anyway, in return to your queries; 1. i was just sharing a STORY 2. i did NOT mention having a job = you will be forever sufficiently sustained. 3. i believe, with a stable earning career, one would then be able to save significant amount of money for further investment (i.e. shares or property to quote). Still, thank you so much for sharing your feedbacks. You do sound like u are a freeman enjoying 100% freedom who has obtain financial independent. I believe the whole forum would love to listen to your successful story. Feel free to share them bro. I would like to learn from you too =) |

(Don't give excuse of cannot be , very risky, no capital..) Is it 99% Singaporeans forever going to be a buffalo of other people forever? Remember: If You are still working for somebody, there is nothing wrong. But remember, regardless of How educated You are, You are still a Mr or Mrs. Nobody. |

Hi TS Bro! I stumble upon your post and can't resist to post a reply! First of all, i am glad you are posting on forum regarding your uncertainty in future. That to me, shows a form of responsibility to yourself. I would like to share my personal experience with you; When i was 17 years old (Normal Acad), my Os level result came out with Five (F9) Two (C6) and One (D7). I believe i was the flop of the nation back then. I retook my Os level the next year, scoring more then your first attempt. I passed with 5 credits ranging from C5-C6 still. I understand how scary it is for a youth to think about his future, but i would like to encourage you that - NOTHING IN LIFE IS IMPOSSIBLE. As long as you are willing to sacrifice initially, you will still succeed somehow. Attitude is the key in life. Enjoy your life process after you get on-board. I couldn't join any poly, neither do i want to go to the ITE. I went to the army straight. Like most kids, i hated the army initially. But luckily, after sincere talk with my officers, i was allowed to take up part-time diploma with a private school in Singapore. 2 years in the army, i also graduated with a Diploma. I came out to the society, sending tons of resume to recruitment firms/fortune top 500 co./local listed co. Being a fresh graduate, i dare not request much. I quoted SGD$1,300 as my starting pay - Back in my mind, i tell myself i am a intern willing to learn and to me S$1,300 is superb high pay for an Intern. My resume sending did paid off. One of the conglomerate MNC in Fortune top 100 contacted me and offered me a job in their corporate level. After being exposed to such a big MNC organisation, i realize the importance of Certificate in Singapore and proceed on to study private degree full time. With my experience in the MNC - guess what, i joined one of the Big 4 auditing firm, staying there for 2 years and today... I am 26 years old, working as a Regional Financial Analyst in a MNC. Remember, back then when i was 17 - I did not even obtain an O level Cert. I hope what i share will give you some inspiration and directions. All the best to you. As long as you are determined and committed, i believe you will be somewhere somehow. If you are looking to get rich, forget what i say above =) Cheers. |

Unregistered | Cannot lah, a lot of degree grads dont even get 3k. HNITEC freshie usually join companies as technician/operator level, pay is around 1.2-1.5k. If you stay long enough, maybe after 15 years can reach supervisory level then got 3k. | |
