Unregistered | Would like to ask if most companies will ask for referees? One of the things holding me back from changing jobs is the referee check. I think my performance is decent but I am quiet and introverted and do not keep in contact with ex-bosses and colleagues, hence nobody to ask to be my referee..

Unregistered | I actually accepted another offer from company A awhile back but have not started work as they commence quite late. Will this be flagged out and be known while company B is doing the reference check on me?

They can check before or after you signed anything. No difference. It is entirely up to the management. |

Unregistered | Do you know what's the rough duration between the reference check stage and handling out of the official contract?

Blueberry | This should be the last step before you start work. My current boss shared with me that he ever rescind his job offer when he discovered one candidate lied about something (not sure about what) when he did reference check.

Unregistered | How about if I mention my notice period is 2 weeks but the contract wrote 30days? However, I know of people who left the company within 1 day of notice, hence I mention 2 weeks as a safe gauge. Will such minor thing be raised when my potential coy contacts my current coy?
