Hi, can anyone shed any information about depot equipment & maintenance project? Interviewers themselves said quite a fair bit of OT too.

But not everyone will be roped in for this works. And ops obviously pays worse than project since it doesn’t generate revenue. That’s why you see a lot of colleagues playing for the new project roles, that will set them for the next 15 years
My RO is suggesting giving a perm role after my contract is up. So there is an opportunity to do so if you are currently in rail

Wrong. Basic salary is the minimum salary they will give you in the event something bad goes wrong. Like economic crisis. They are allowed to cut it down all the way down to basic. Which is around half or higher than half of your monthly salary. NPVP is carved out to be the component they can take away from you at a moment's notice.

Market variable is MAC or market adjustment component where depending on market/budget they might give it to you. There is a quota on MAC, usually decided by higher ups who will get it.

Some people even within a team may not get MAC some may get. Why? Nobody knows. Usually only HR and the big bosses will.

But usually in service alot of these things are small 'signals' as to whether you are a valued member to your boss/management. If you pick up enough of these signals, you can tell whether you got a career or not.

At this point with LTA being bashed so much in the media, I wouldn't be surprised if MOF starts cutting budget because the organization is in such disarray.

From what I have been hearing from townhall, projects will continue till 2030s. And from masterplan I believe there should be at least one more major line in the pipeline, but with JRL/CRL/TEL/RTS lines completed by then, there is def a risk where only those wayang kias will be able to be part of the new line construction.

Try to get your RO for permanent role if possible
