lostbee I had think of that too. That why thinking of switching career if not next time no money buy house or car. Those who work 10years+ in engineering only with 5k+ salary.

But then the degree from sim is recognized or not is another problem. Most probably after degree will take up a mba.

a- B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering (NUS)..

b- finance in SIM.. the "only" part time business degree course that consider not bad than those distance learning uni..

thanks
I would definitely say take up option "B"!!! Business degree is more relevant to Singapore!! But you probably have to take up a masters with specialization after that..

Taking BTech degree won't take you very far in Singapore...
U give all your life savings to the school... Struggle 4 years trying to memorize all those useless abstract mathematical formulas that u won't even get to apply in normal life.... When you finally graduate 4 years later, amn engineer's salary would not have risen much higher from the present s.h.i.t we are getting... How to keep up with inflation??
Few years down the road, there would be even more PRC engineer than there is today.. with thousands more flooding into Singapore each year, do you think salaries will increase?? Very unlikely...

The fact is for Singapore to remain as an attractive location to retain those foreign companies which set up shop here, in particular those dealing with engineering maintenance services and manufacturing.. Labour cost has to be low... This is done thru the import of cheaper engineers., unfortunately local engineers are not spared alsol...

Don't fall into this engineering scam.. they have brainwashed you from primary school.. to walk the path of destruction and poverty to meet the needs of the economy.. If you really want to know which course is prospective in Singapore, just see for yourself what courses the minister send their kids to study.. Quite sure most of them are sent to study medicine, law and economics..
these days out of a 100 engineers cohort.. i dare say less than 60% stay in engineering industry.. Those who switch out early are lucky. those who can't.. wait to be retrench when old and a little too expensive.. sad man..
