Unregistered I am not sure about the dredging industry as it seems quite niche. I suppose you are talking about the dredging at sea which supports the maritime or oil and gas industry.

In the oil and gas industry,, if you are a permanent hire drawing a fixed basic salary going offshore for a long period of time, say a couple of weeks, you must ask for the offshore allowance or hardship allowance. Usually goes by day rate, say one day will get maybe one or two hundred or more ? It also depends on the places you go to ? Say Angola or Iran ? Dangerous places will entitle you to risk allowance. Not sure if it is applicable for your case.

Unregistered Remember to check your insurance coverage, company policies on "hijacked vessels" or "kidnapped employee" and know how to swim.

Actually most important is must have a terrorist face, then you can kpkb other people.

Project Engineer in a dredging company

I have recently interviewed for this international dredging company for the role of project engineer.

The job requires you to fly around the world to work 2 months overseas followed by 1 month of rest.

When you are overseas for 2 months all expenses are catered for. Normal working conditions overseas are on the average around 10-12 hr each day around 6 days a week.

As this is not your normal engineering job, I would like to consult bros here what would be a reasonable expected salary to demand? I have no experience in dredging but however have around 3 years experience in project management.

Any of you guys have worked similar jobs before?

Thanks in advance.
