I just had an offer from a polythenic, as an exec, $3400 IPS5, 2 year contract. Anyone knows if this is a good offer ? Additionally, do they normally extend your contract?

Is anyone able to share what's the annual salary increment?
The average or range in percentage.
As well as the number of years to be promoted if C+ or B.
Thank you

Yup I did. a screw up system.
Example: between a permanent estab staff vs contract staff. Assuming both equally performed well.
But only able to choose one due to quota, definitely common sense to promote the perm estab staff right?
All these contract position are not retaining the staff and only director levels are eligible to apply for estab. should this be raised to the ministry? How do you like to be put as contract staff and be first to be retrenched if economy is bad?

Now there are a lot of helicopters, joining as directors or senior managers. All are IPS 9 and in mid 30s. Recently I see Directors as young as early 40s. All they do is just laugh and talk. No need to do lectures, just talk. Talk is cheap and why are the institutes hiring these people? Scholars? White horses? Children of Ministers?
You see the young lecturers join with fixed term contract and leaves after doing the sh!t work. That's so unfair. The system is bad.

If you are given lower IPS and at that role means you are shortchanged.
Get lower salary but doing more work at that role.
Good luck to you as promotion is very biased. Some may promote every 2 years.
Some may never even promote.

One poly, two rules. One for commoner, one for senior management.
