Like him, I was averse to talking to my HR in my younger days.

But the fact is that some HR managers are in good terms with the other managers and they may inadvertently leak info about what you say.

lanny why don't you ask the HR in your company? they will give you the accurate answer rather than take the advice of others in this forum who may not have a clue on your company's policy.
