Advice

I have been around Long enough, including being at Hq, to know how it works. Remember that this is the civil service and worse still the teacving service. Know that it IS YOUR ROs job to develop you to achieve your aspirations. Scholar can non scholar makes no diff. I have seen a non Hons grad progress as fast as scholars and in a JC. Can you believe that? No not kidding . Itís just that the majority are stuck in complaining rather than realising this fact.

Observe ur school environment . Which committee bosses are always fighting for their staff? Which committee are always getting the attention of the Ps and VPs? I heard student council is a very good choice in some places . Which HODs? Do what u can to join the gang. Discuss school issues with your P and VP - with a positive spin of course! If a new initiative is working for eg. And of course work hard. I know of teachers, not many of course, who work hard every nite till 12 midnite and on weekends. Join an extra committee. And never step on anybodyís toes- definitely not anyone who sits on the ranking panel but also anyone in general as that persons bff may be on the ranking panel .

It works .

I reckoned that you just went for the interview.. that's how I landed up in this thread.
I read from the earliest post.
One person posted it's $300 per month but it's only given at the end of the year..

I can confidently say I deliver my KRAs.

SLs will not explicitly tell you that you will no longer in the runway. But coming from HQ, I know the whole pathway is stuck. There is a formula beyond CEP (e.g if the EO on normal teaching scholar vis-a-vis overseas scholar, is the EO under TDU's radar, how many schools have the EO been too)

To be selected for VP interview, teachers in FLP will be selected first, which gives non-scholars hardly a chance.

Because simply doing your job is a D according to the grading system. You can read that online. You need to think of how to value add to your job. Teaching graduating class or not does not really matter.

Unregistered Yes, I realise that teachers have a rather unique skill set which is valuable in mostly just education and training sectors. Even within that, there are limitations, it depends on what you are training and your current post. If you are simply an ordinary teacher, there really are very few alternative employments which value what a teacher can contribute to the organization despite us taking on all kinds of ad-hoc roles.

We organize and plan events, but to be an event planner for example is still quite a far fetch concept.

What do you teach? To be honest, I think it's difficult for teachers to change career and expect same pay. Our "skills" and "knowledge" does not command that much in the real working world.

Ultimately, while I agree that $ is important, you will need passion in this job.
I think you are missing the point. The person has hit ceiling and thus is feeling jaded. How would you feel if you have been putting in effort yet your pay is cap? Furthermore the person has been in Geo 3 for almost 7 years. Thatís a long time. If he/she has not done anything wrong, then the system is not doing him/her justice by capping his/her salary. There needs to be progression in order for people to feel motivated. Stagnant salary and passion cannot be found in the same equation.
