Unregistered | No the doctor didn't have to risk anything. All individuals, including educators, possess the entitlement to utilize sick leave as necessary, irrespective of the veracity of their ailment. Such speculations regarding the authenticity of illnesses or alleged financial inducements to medical professionals are unwarranted as it mainly undermine the foundation of trust within the workplace. Plus to evaluate or judge an individual's efficacy based on their medical absences is purely unjust. Performance assessments should be predicated on job duties and accomplishments, rather than health-related factors. Cultivating an environment that embraces and supports the health requirements of colleagues is paramount in nurturing a workplace culture that values well-being. However, our MOE schools, SLs, KPs and teachers mindsets are way far from that culture. | |

Hi all, I really would appreciate some answers cos 63206320 doesn't pick up my calls and I wait for their email replies till neck long long... This 2024 Dec, I will receive my 10 year pay out. I will be on maternity leave from Oct 2024 onwards and the leave should be till Feb 2025. From there, I intend to take 1 year of NPL. May I know if there is a clause saying that you need to stay for a period of time after you collect your pay out, or else, they will take it back from you? If so, any idea how long that period is? I hearsay from a colleague that her sis, a GEO 5 had to stay 3 months after taking the pay out. Don't know if that's accurate. I'm GEO 4 btw. Any advice would be appreciated.. Thanks! |

I was in a school where the daily msg bombardment was super bad, until I switched school and immediately noticed how different the new place was. Barely any messages outside of work hours or during holiday protected time. All because the principal clamped down hard on it a few years ago. |

Just sharing. I know of a teacher who encouraged the colleagues around him not to tire themselves out and to go home and rest early whenever possible. Within the next few days, someone reported his words and actions to the Principal and he was called to the principals office for a talk. Apparently the principal told him that he is not supposed to go around telling others, especially young colleagues, such things, even when he is already a very experienced teacher. He was told that it was a bad example to younger officers. Not sure what to feel about this. |
