I have no idea why engineers, who can swap jobs with almost any other position and adapt faster than others are paid peanuts.

Maybe we (the engineers in singapore(ya, i am rnd eng)) should collectively take non engineering courses and change job!!

I also engineer. I feel overworked and pay is nothing to shout about. Working late nights are common & expected. However my job, though hard, is interesting. The thing is, some jobs are really harder to earn then others....

But again harder is defined differently from others, some may think sales is hard/easy, technical is hard/easy, muscle power is hard/easy but i think the hardest job is amongst the engineering technical research side.
