6 months? Yeah once it's over it's over. Renewable contracts are often in the years duration, not months. Anyway just take it and look for a job at the same time. Job hunting while having a job is easier than job hunting with no job. |

Unregistered | Ya a lot like this. Accept the contract role and continue to look for full time role.

sannoh | I heard government nowadays only issue contract basis and not on permanent basis. Is that true?

In any case, you should be on a look out for full time if contract role is all you are getting. Quit once you find something better. It doesn't matter even if the 6months or 1 year contracts are always renewed, contracts means access to career progression and staff benefit is lower, and you run the risk of being cut anytime |

sannoh | I see. If renewed, it'll be every six months too? Kinda makes me feel that I have to be on my toes all the time XD

Unregistered | Contract is very normal, especially for freshers.. common in govtech, dbs etc. Just check with then but in my experience, ive always seen cobtracts get renewed

Contract with Government Agency I recently signed a new contract with one of the government agency and they offer me a 6 month contract. Is the contract renewable every 6 months? Or once its over, I'm gonna be jobless |
