Unregistered I used to work for a company where they change the offer after the staff come to work on first day.
They just "offer" but sign contract on first day.

Don't accept this kind of arrangement, I've seen that company change their offer few times.
Basically they put a very nice job title etc to lure people to join.

But when joined its for a lesser role. Etc. In the end like 5 people quick after first day. Also feel sad for them cause they probably quit their previous role thinking its a "manager" role here but it's really just a lie.

Example QA manager in job title but actually is just qa lead. And also not really lead cause only he one person.

Such is working life.

Unregistered I always have this problem too, but because of my colourful past.

That’s why I will always be upfront and get their ‘buy-in’ confirmation with offer letter before I tender.

I guess your concern is really if it is safe to throw now. Why don't you drop an email or call to the co HR to query about indicative start date, when will receive contract and etc, and let them know your concern so you can act accordingly?

Qualification check and satisfactory reference check may take a while. If you wait for those, how do you advise your indicative start date, which will be contingent on when you throw letter? Your reference check would preferably be your manager or someone who had supervisory duties. How to check if you have not given notice.

I gave notice after signing the offer letter.

Offer letter Vs. Contract

Hi all,

Is saying "yes" and signing the offer letter (which provides some key details) sufficient grounds to throw letter at your present organization? Or should you wait for a full contract to come, sign it, then quit your current role?

The job offer also says it's contingent on qualifications check and satisfactory reference check, but I have really nothing to hide for these two areas. Guess most people will advise that you get confirmation from the new company's HR that you have cleared these two, before you throw letter?
