Got similar experience, the company wanted to offer but it didn't cos im in their competitor company, maybe they scared of potential lawsuits? which is ridiculous cos the position is low level work.

Basically continue work in the old company and jump to other one....dun bother and just look for another one...

hi sathish, i have been in the same situation before. It was a Chinese MNC for my case as they decided to closed down the department and move it back to china.

There is no use to complain to MOM as i had tried to do the same. The msg i got from MOM was that there is nothing they can do and they advised me to sue them in court if i wish to pursue further.

Likewise i tried to engage the help of NTUC , but there is nothing NTUC can do also as the company is not unionized. The consultant didnt even bother to make an effort to call or email the company on my behalf. Instead, they offered resume courses/career coaching to help me find another job which i think is just a waste of time.

All the best...i hope you can get out of this situation fast

very unfortunate situation to be in, but there is really nothing you can do at the moment. One thing you can try is to go back to your boss and say that you've changed your mind. see if they are willing to have you on...

I understand that I need to look for other jobs. Of course, employer won’t mention in contract that they won’t rescind the offer. Complain MOM is to expose the company about their unfair practices(not sure if they did this to others before at the last moment), not to ask the employer to annul the revoked offer.

Companies and especially MNCs do not do that to people on purpose. Chances are the role you applied for or the department has just been made redundant.

They start interviewing and extend contract to people only when they have a headcount or budget.

You think they too much time try to entice you to quit the job and pull a fast one on you? That may happens if you are in a kdrama, and you are the lead of the show vs an antagonist.
