Contractors have nothing to lose, look at their code also all rubbish, always creating new tech debt because they can't follow basic coding conventions and the perms need to clean up.

I say before i only a contractor, better than some of those full time I staff, no urgency, take it easy, even multiple reminder headup they will purposely don't approved something to make your job more difficult, if you are someone can't take stress you will get high blood..
