sandramack2013 For big market research companies like Nielsen, TNS, Synovate etc...
2 years experience probably you can ask for 2.6-2.8k.
Some of the smaller agencies pay slightly better.

hopping to client side is your best bet.
check unilever, they've been hiring a lot lately in this area.

Unregistered i realise the turnover is quite high in this industry...by hopping to competitors and then back and forth..

Many researchers seemed to be recycled between TNS, Nielsen and Millward Brown.

What is the inside story for career and pay progression for these big 3 really?

Does hopping to competitors provide a much larger pay/rank jump than staying at the same company?

What is the salary range for the various ranks?

Junior exec - 2.4K for freshies to 3K -3.5K for 2 to 4 years exp
Senior exec - ?
Manager - ?
Snr Manager - ?
Asst Director - ?
Director - ?

Not worth it. Unless you're at client side.

with all due respect to the MR industry, yes, i mean it does not have a guarantee profit, which is to say, all research jobs are the same. It is not measurable between differences. And as it is a non-technical job, any auntie "can" (not qualify) be placed in that job. What the MR can do, is to minimize risk and abolish "stupid" ideas.
