Diligently tracked a detailed spreadsheet to know my savings and expenditure, expand to investment and then create plan to tap on various sources of income for retirement based on future expense scenario.

Discovery:
1. CPF compounding interest effect is amazing.
2. Need to understand your spending pattern well to decide on my future lifestyle.
3. It is fun and satisfying to monitor your growth, enjoy the journey
4. Spend within your means
5. Potential to tap on insurance maturity values if need to (although this is not the best investment tool)

I am sure many sensible Singaporeans are doing it.

Finally, can go to Malaysia to further stretch the retirement dollars. Why spend in Singapore where you can get plenty of good food and entertainment.

we are at the similar situation with you. Have about $3mil in stocks, CPF etc... plus a rental property $1.5mil fully paid. we are enjoy this phase of life at age 50. Life has never been better. Cheers.

Unregistered Simple formula. 300X your monthly expenditure. Can retire and live indefinitely

If your house fully paid for and you can live with $1500 a month all in, you only need $450k to retire

If you still got mortgage, want a car, total spend $10k a month, you need $3 million.

Honestly, is there so much things to work on and re-invents in the public jobs, not really as we are already in 50 to 60 years into the Singapore soft and hardware.

The best job in Singapore. Get a civil servant job, leave at 62 at retirement age and invest in property. Best job, no late night calls just make your boss feel special.
Not forgetting that it is important to carry balls and carry eggs.

the salary can be low but at least it can

1) cover part/all of your daily expenses
2) keep yourself occupied (also prevent dementia)
3) worry about how much money you need to retire (as the figure will be increasing as we are speaking now due to inflation etc)

the work per say may be difficult to find but one should be mindful and work towards this goal in the long term.
Ideal job will be just 8am to 5.30pm, no work after office hours and on weekends. But looks like many jobs that require degree often needs employees to work even after working hours and weekends

Best Job in Singapore

To retire in Singapore, go for civil servant jobs not foreign talent competition and easy jobs just to make bosses happy and feel special. No retrenchment.
