For contract signing, are we allowed to bring it back home and read it before signing it, or have to sign it in-person on the spot kind? Also, prior to that, will we be told about the salary + benefits (the whole package) before signing contract? Asking this as private sector seems to allowed electronic signing or even take-home contract to read carefully and then sign and return to them. Not sure if it’s same case for mindef?

Mine was pretty fast. Took about 1-2 weeks to arrange stuff. And once I made it to the final interview stage, it took about 2 weeks or so for HR to contact me to proceed on with clearance stuff and also a confirmation email from hiring manager that they are keen to consider me + final offer will be made after passing clearance.

The email I received said that not shortlisted, keep a lookout for updates if have applied for other roles and may contact me if have other suitable.

technically not true. is just that after AD is DD and DXO DD jobs are very few and also very niche. they might open the job to outside if they need new skillsets that currently mindef do not have or updated, i.e. data science kind of jobs.
thats probably why you will only see AD as the highest and typically DD is taken up by those in the AD positions for a long time. you can still apply DD, but in the end, best men wins.
