I’m now in a similar position as you, interviewed last week and was told by the panel to wait 1-2 weeks. I don’t have a good feeling cause in my previous govt positions, those that offered me always called the next day. And if its a rejection, its 2weeks after interview.
Maybe they changed the way they work? Hopefully both of us gets the job!!

likely sign that offer is in the pipeline assuming no dark secrets dug up from the screening?

Yeah from the past offers i was offered the position when they gave verbal offer the next day after interview.
Now i’m applying for other positions and waiting again. But idk if its bad news if im told to wait 1-2 weeks…
