Yes Yes almost all have post doc. If you don't have one from a top Uni don't bother applying. I'm assuming you are a foreigner. So yes subsidized on-campus housing for 3 years. After that you either become a hall fellow or find your own place. |

Agree with the poster above. If you are a fresh PhD with no post-doc experience, you may even have trouble finding a teaching position in university (NTU and NUS). Most of them requires you to have post-doc experience. But then again, this depend on which field of Science you specialise in. Last i heard, fresh Assistant Prof ranges around 9k. But the faculty will work you to your bones, requesting for publications once every 2 - 3 years plus teaching requirements. And you need to constantly apply for external grants to keep your research going on. |

Reply Are you a fresh phd holder or someone relocating to sg? If you already have tenure somewhere and you are established in your field, yes close. If you are a fresh phd holder no where close. |

Salary at Assistant or Associate Professor Hi everyone, Posting for the first time, does anyone has an idea about the salary range for an assistant or associate professor in the science field.I have searched the internet, but most of the available information is 5 years old. My rough estimate is around 12k for assistant professor and around 15-16k for associate professor.Do these figures sound correct. |
