Unregistered Just to get back to topic, I am a field engineer/project manager in a Korean construction company. 15 years exp drawing app. 290k inclusive of all allowance & bonus. In terms of work hours, it is mainly project driven. During peak periods and falling behind deadlines there are times I work 48 hrs straight only taking short breaks at site.

May I ask how low is the salary?

Maybe you guys can also put down the number the years you guys have been in the field as an M and E engineer, your current pay, working hours, etc. Thanks!

Unregistered Construction industry is okay. You will learn alot but the pay is low.
The industry is not promising.

Joining the civil service, you will have a good starting pay but you will end up as a paper engineer.

Would be best to enter the private industry for a few years of practical design experience then join civil sector. So later on, you can apply to be a professional Engineer.

The only thing I know about the M and E engineer job is that it doesn't have regular working hours.

Just trying to look for some advice from current M and E engineers on how the industry is like, how the career progression is like for an M and E engineer, how the pay is, whether the irregular working hours occur on a regular basis and etc....
