But this secretary is obviously incoherent in the thought and behaviour process...kept defending herself over the fact that job is "a special secretary task" (hence suggesting we do not understand her situation). Then if we advise her to quit-she will say the rest never give a thought (meaning she won't be rash) and left. Then when it was claimed that reason why they found job, partly because she contemplated too much, she (had to) argue "I never mentioned they found jobs". Then when some very kind hearted person gave her sound advice to go into training. Silence that is so loud you got it. You probably could never help such a person with "attitude" - not the cool type, the bad type.feel only pity and disdain for such. |

No choice Well it depends on who is leaving. If it's finance guys (i.e. Accountants), something must be wrong with the company. They know best, like what is the company actually doing? Making money? Etc Speaking from personal experience. Joined the company for 5 years, changing accountants every 6 to 12 months. Some quit without a job offer. If it's other offices or other guys, I supposed it's just regular turnover. For anxiety, I feel it day in day out, mostly because we could be doing illegal business (that's why accountants keep quiting). Just meditate regularly. Some times I contemplate suicide. Just have to keep telling yourself take the pay, the money is clean. |

Be your own boss Hi there, do you think you have what it takes to strike it out on your own? Just wanted to share the following. I have attended quite a number of soft skills training (all sponsored by my company) covering various aspects from public speaking, coaching, how to conduct interviews, conflict management to general management/supervision of staff. I always make it a point to get to know the trainers better by talking to them during breaks. What I found common was that they were all former employees and got tired of office politics or reach their career end points, and decided to strike it out on your own focussing on soft skills development as trainers. Some started off as assistants to these trainers and eventually started their own gigs. You may want to explore this. Once upon a time, the concept of Work Improvement Teams (WITS) was a big thing and the government poured quite a big of money into it. Many people including ex-Military officers started offering trainings in this area. Not sure if the Civil Service or Military still have this. Quote:

First of all, stop being self-righteous-thinking you are right, being unlearn-able, untrainable. Secondly, respect all those who give their comments here as they are not obligated to reply you nor are they at your mercy. Thirdly do not demand answers from a public forum if you can't find them, no one will pander to your whims and fancies. Go get yourself a shrink and manage your self awareness in behaviour and attitude. Get real friends whom you can confide in - at most people here can only provide what they think is best, end of the day, they do not know you. You want my advice? My two cents worth- stop self-focusing especially your perceived problems; learn to accept challenges that come your way. If all else fail, think more, (since U mentioned those who left do not think as much as you) and just quit. (Have not encounter such a self-absorbed working adult as you). Get real! Such is life. |

Unregistered | Yea, I don't really get the point of this thread either. I mean office administrators come and go in my company all the time. If they are happy they stay, not happy they join another place. Not sure why TS just post all this "updates" without purpose other than feeling shiok, maybe hope others will join her to condem the boss. But waste of time in the end. | |

Can anyone please give some suggestions about how to deal with the anxiety and fear as per my INITIAL post ? Original post : You want to leave too but no openings for new positions elsewhere, and the fear of jumping from one ****-hole to another ****-hole, how do you deal with the anxiety and fear ? It doesn't help by calling other people 'loser' or shooting at the threadstarter when you are not even providing constructive comments. It just goes to prove why you are still looking for a job or is unhappy with your job and need a channel to make yourself feel better. This is a forum where ppl start threads to seek support and advice. I don't see what is wrong with my thread ? |
