The only people involved in life science who enjoy "a stable job and income and live comfortably" are those whose job it is to push others, but not themselves, into life science.

pancakes thank thanks thanks.

i am going to be a life science poly grad..

if wanna aim for acca..

what is the difference between:

tAking UOL acct and finance then to acca

or directly sit for all papers for acca by learning in Kaplan course?

which is cheaper..
and better..

Unregistered sounds like a good plan.

but it seems it will take up a lot of money. you can save lots if you identify early which industry you actually want to go into. pls note whenever you switch career, be prepared to take a huge pay cut and they actually treat u as as a freshie. u r also at a disadvantage if u wan to re-switch back to your old industry, they will question y u left in the first place.

same old advice: identify early your industry, save the extra degree, and concentrate on one area to excel in. start off as an intern in that industry and you can work ur way up very fast.

pancakes HI people my plan is this
i intend to pursue and ultimately get two types of degree..
one is in science
pte sch merlior offers bsc in biomedical science 16 mth to complete..
recognition among emplyers not too sure..
and at the same time do some papers for acca..
like thatt i can switch industry if i want..

Unregistered sorry to say, the finance industry cannot really give u a stable job. huge layoffs awaits all during a recession. normal workdays you can expect to work OT, but not all departments.

life science can give you a stable job and income and live comfortably.

The qualifications u listed are geared towards accountancy. i don't think you need these to be a financial advisor. anyway, professional qualifications require some degree of hard work.

for a start, maybe you can take some business or finance modules. i don't think you can switch course to finance now. take up internship or start as a trainee in the company u r interested in n slowly work ur way up.

as for UOL degree, have to see wad kind of course, modules, etc etc.

Regarding Accountancy

Hi peeps of this forum.
I am currently a poly student specialising in life science.
Thinking of switching to acct and finance
i am interested in being a financial adviser and stuff like that.
Erm and then
i wish to find a job which is stable and requires me to earn a decent okay income.
I was wondering abt the CPA, ACCA qualification.
I would like to know how hard is it to get one.
And how much would the qualification allows me to earn , say I got a UOL degree?
