And salary isn't everyone's primary concern (it wasn't mine, at least, not when I was a fresh grad).

That said, 2.4k is sad. That's what I earned when I graduated 7 years ago (well known japanese electronics company) and I had a perm contract. I'm guessing the company is volkswagen?
BMW actually. But ur right, the offer was really pathetic especially coming from a MNC. At first I thought the HR was just trying to start low for negotiation, but the lady just told me take it or leave it in an arrogant manner, also claims she has already shortlisted a few other candidates even if I reject.

I manage to drag them until a ministry got back to me with offer then told her to fark off.

imo, digital marketing is a better choice. I was also faced with the same choice when I graduated 7 years back and I chose digital marketing. no regrets. pay range would probably depend on what sort of company (agency or client side), what sort of position (digital marketing is very broad) and also how much experience you have (internships/temp/contract) you can try asking here for more info - s://.facebook.com/groups/DigitalMarketingSingapore/
It might have worked for you 7 years ago, but I wouldn't recommend joining the crowd when everyone is trying to get there now. There is way too many people flooding into alternative channel marketing, social media ap / branding, digital marketing r&d and online marketing. Bottom line is most of these jobs don't really require any in depth technical knowledge or even general softskill.

unless ur joining a mnc straight, most market research analyst are outsourced to companies. they are really just simple excel analysis and some ops ground work research.

those real high level technical specialist will look for top talent with exp or phd/masters from top unis and wont bother with a fresh grad aussie uni w/o honors and exp.
